Stunning aurora as seen from the space station

ESA astronaut Paolo Nespoli was witness  to an incredible sighting on 15. september 2017 and made a timelapse composed out of 711 frames for us to see.

The aurora created a show that only happens aproximately 4 times pr. solar cycle. One solar cycle is 11 years so we can safely say that it’s rare to experience such a strong geomagnetic storm that covers alot of the northern hemisphere. And even rarer to experience it from space. So sit down, relax and enjoy this magic show seen from space.
